Boswell magistrate reports: Jan. 3

The following preliminary hearings are scheduled before District Judge Susan Mankamyer in Boswell:

Theft

Howard Finnigan Jr., 50, Stoltz Road, Bethel, has been charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, both second-degree felonies. According to a probable-cause affidavit, on Thursday a woman arrived at her Brotherton Road, Stonycreek Township, home to find that Finnigan had stolen a rifle and $500. A preliminary hearing had not yet been scheduled Thursday evening.

Failure to comply

Eric Sager, 69, Hemlock Road, Boswell, has been charged with three counts of failure to comply and dogs not validly registered. According to a probable-cause affidavit, Sager failed to register a dangerous dog from Feb. 5 to the current date. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. Jan. 30.
