Newegg Achieves Key Milestones to Localize the Shopping Experience for International Customers

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec 4, 2018--Newegg, the leading tech-focused e-retailer in North America with a global reach into more than 50 countries, today announced significant updates to the shopping experience on its growing network of global storefronts. These improvements to Newegg’s global operation – which include translated country-specific websites, expanded local-language support, new local return options and free shipping on select products – are the latest examples of the company’s sustained commitment to serve customers outside the United States.

Local-language Support

Newegg now offers a Spanish-translated shopping experience for customers in Spain and Mexico, plus all the countries the company serves in Central and South America (with the exception of Brazil and Jamaica). Additionally, Newegg now offers live phone and/or chat support in eight languages, including Spanish, Armenian, Cantonese, Khmer, French, German, Mandarin and Tagalog.

Local Returns

Customers want a clear localized return policy in order to shop cross-border sites. To that end, Newegg now offers local return options for all international customers. Processing an international return is as simple as logging into the customer’s account, locating the order in question and selecting ‘return.’ The customer is given detailed instructions on where to return the merchandise. Return shipping labels are provided and, depending on the reason for return, shipping costs are either paid by the customer or by Newegg.

Free Shipping

Newegg now offers free shipping to a growing number of its international customers, including those in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Hong Kong, Mexico, South Korea and Australia. Hundreds of thousands of products in each country are now eligible for free delivery when customers select the standard shipping option.
