Scottsbluff Police Department

The Scottsbluff Police Department completed a DUI grant that went from Dec. 14, 2018, to Jan. 1, 2019. There were 66 arrests: four DUI arrests, 10 arrests for driving under suspension, 10 arrests for minor in possession, 19 drug-related arrests, one stolen vehicle was recovered and 13 arrest warrants were served.

A total of 80 citations were issued: 32 citations were issued for expired registration, 5 speeding, 4 stop light violations, 6 citations for no seat belts, eight for no proof of insurance, and seven for no driver’s license.

There were 274 warnings given.

Dec. 22

10:02 p.m. — In the 1200 block of Sixth Avenue, police stopped a traffic stop on a vehicle with a non-functional taillight and reported detecting the odor of marijuana. Police searched the vehicle, finding a small amount of marijuana. A juvenile was cited on a narcotic violation.

Dec. 25

10:03 a.m. — Police investigated a report of a woman in the 300 block of E. Overland with a suspicious deep cut on her leg.

12:25 p.m. — Police responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Avenue D in reference to a possible disturbance. A suspect was reported to have been developed and the investigation ongoing as of the date of the report.

12:42 p.m. — An officer was dispatched to a report of a man being disorderly in the 1300 block of Sixth Avenue. A suspect was named but no arrest or citation was noted.

2:33 p.m. — Officers were dispatched to a motel in the 2400 block of Avenue I. Jenise Gurnsey, 21, was cited on a charge of third-degree assault.

Dec. 27

2:06 p.m. — Police took a report of a woman who had trespassed at Walmart, 3322 Ave. I.

4:24 p.m. — Police responded to a report of domestic assault in the 700 block of W. 14th Street. The investigation as noted as ongoing as of the date of the report.

Dec. 28

4:05 a.m. — In the 1400 block of East 17th Street, police responded to an argument between two males. Police made contact with one person and Jerry Tammer, 62. Tammer was cited on a charge of third-degree assault.

10:11 a.m. — In the 200 block of Hazeldeane Drive, police responded to a report of credit card fraud. Police arrested Luis Ayala, 31, on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, unauthorized use of a financial transaction device and theft by unlawful taking.

2:38 p.m. — In the 1200 block of Tenth Avenue, police investigated a motor vehicle theft. The vehicle had been involved in a motor vehicle accident in Gering and was recovered.

3:03 p.m. — At Hobby Lobby, 2410 S. Frontage Road, police cited Paula Weimer, 64, on a charge of theft by shoplifting.

10:12 p.m. — Police investigated a theft in the 1400 block of Fifth Avenue.

Dec. 29

7:28 a.m. — Police investigated a vandalism in the 00 block of W. 16th Street. No arrests or citations had been made as of the date of the report.

1:34 p.m. — Police responded to the 2400 block of Avenue A in response to a report of a theft from Walmart.

6:05 p.m. — At Dollar General, 818 E. Overland Drive, Megan Osteen, 29, was cited on a charge of theft by shoplifting.

Dec. 30

2 a.m. — At the intersection of E. 19th Street/Seventh Avenue, police cited Crystal Plasencio, 27, on a charge of driving under suspension.
