One Dead In Crash Involving COLTS Shared Ride Bus
ARCHBALD — Part of the Business Route 6 in the Eynon section of the borough is closed off as authorities investigated a crash involving a COLTS shared-ride bus that left one person dead and another significantly injured, authorities said.
A message left for Coroner Tim Rowland was not immediately returned.
Contacted on his cell phone, Archbald Police Chief Tim Trently said that he is standing in the middle of the highway and the hung up.
The crash involving the County of Lackawanna Transit System vehicle happened early this afternoon near Big Lots.
District Attorney Mark Powell said that one person is dead and another is badly wounded but did not have any additional information.
Trooper Bob Urban, a spokesman for the Dunmore based Troop R, said that a forensic unit from the state police is assisting Archbald in mapping out the crash scene.
COLTS was unable to immediately provide further information.
