Celtic salvages 1-1 draw at Hibernian
GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) — Celtic avoided its first domestic loss of the season as James Forrest grabbed a late equalizer in a 1-1 draw against Hibernian in the Scottish Premier League on Saturday.
Paul Heffernan put Hibernian in front in the 18th minute after racing through the Celtic lines as the league leaders struggled to open their opponent’s defense.
But Forrest, who replaced Kris Commons after 28 minutes, made sure his team stayed unbeaten when he curled in a beautiful strike with 13 minutes left in the match.
Celtic, which hosts Ajax in the Champions League on Tuesday, was four points clear of second-place Inverness.
