ConAgra Chairman To Sell $30 Million in Stock
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) _ ConAgra Inc. Chairman Charles Harper plans to sell about $30 million worth of his stock in the company, ConAgra announced Monday.
Harper, 65, will sell about 1 million shares, or about 40 percent of his holdings, the company said.
ConAgra said Harper will use the proceeds to pursue unspecified business investments and commitments.
Harper recently stepped down as chief executive officer of the Omaha-based food-processing giant. He remains as chairman.
A ConAgra statement to stockholders issued in August said Harper owns more than 2.5 million shares of ConAgra’s common stock.
ConAgra said the timing of Harper’s stock sale hasn’t been determined.
The announcement came after the close of financial markets Monday. ConAgra stock price finished up 37 1/2 cents at $30.12 1/2 a share Monday on the New York Stock Exchange.
