Sporting draws 1-1 at Belenenses with goal in injury time
LISBON, Portugal (AP) — Carlos Mane scored in injury time to salvage for 10-man Sporting Lisbon a 1-1 draw at Belenenses in the Portuguese league on Saturday.
Rui Fonte scored in the 69th minute to give Belenenses the lead.
The hosts’ chances were boosted in the 83rd when Sporting lost right back Cedric Alves to a second booking.
But Mane netted from Jefferson’s pass in stoppage time.
Benfica leads the lead with 50 points before hosting Setubal on Sunday. FC Porto, which beat Guimaraes 1-0 on Friday, is in second place with 49. Sporting was left in third place with 44.
Also, Gil Vicente beat Pacos Ferreira 1-0 to provisionally escape the relegation zone.
