ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) _ Ryan Taylor, who led the Western Athletic Conference in sacks for the University of New Mexico, spent Saturday night in jail on charges of aggravated battery and false imprisonment.

Bernalillo County jail officials said Ryan Taylor, 21, was released at 11 a.m. Sunday.

Tony Herrera, Albuquerque Police Department spokesman, said he had no information on what led to Taylor's arrest.

Coach Rocky Long said he talked to Taylor on Sunday and knew Taylor had spent the night in jail. Long had no further comment, saying he needed to learn more about what happened.

Taylor, who will be a junior next season, is a two-year letterman who led the team and the Western Athletic Conference in sacks last season with 11 as a defensive end. He has moved to the middle linebacker position during spring practice.
