Duke to Be Honored at White House

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) _ National champion Duke will be honored by President Bush at the White House on Monday.

The Blue Devils, who beat Arizona for the crown April 2, are scheduled to participate in a ceremony in the Rose Garden, then take a tour of the White House.

The team will also eat lunch in the Senate chambers and take tours of the Capitol, the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery. The city of Durham will honor the Blue Devils at the Durham Civic Center that night.

Duke earned its third national championship under coach Mike Krzyzewski with an 82-72 victory over Arizona in the title game. The Blue Devils finished 35-4, won their fifth consecutive Atlantic Coast Conference regular season title and won the ACC Tournament for the third year in a row.
