Dogs in animal cruelty cases up for adoption
BRUNSWICK, Maine (AP) — Dogs seized in animal cruelty cases will be available for adoption in Brunswick.
The Bangor Daily News reports that nearly 30 dogs will be available Saturday at the Midcoast Humane Society.
Local police seized 44 dogs from a Brunswick home in August. Police said the dogs were living in cages stacked three or four high.
At least one of the dogs died after being seized, and some were returned to the owners after their home was deemed habitable.
The small-breed dogs include Chihuahua and Pomeranian mixes.
