Tuesday, Aug. 7: Platform Beer Co.’s Charitable Tuesday beneficiary is Safe Families for Children at 3 p.m. A dollar sold of every Platform beer or cider will be donated. Platform is at 4125 Lorain Ave., Cleveland.

Thursday, Aug. 9: Jukebox Cleveland is hosting Thirsty Thursday with Virtue Cider 5-7 p.m. It’s at 1404 W. 29th St., Cleveland.

Friday, Aug. 10: Heinen’s will hold OH-IPA, a celebration of 10 locally made IPAs. Cost is $15. Ticket sales end at 8 a.m. Aug. 10. It’s at 900 Euclid Ave., Cleveland.

Friday, Aug. 10: Firkin Friday’s beer flavor is cranberry at Thirsty Dog Brewing Co. at 1085 Old River Road, Cleveland’s Flats East Bank and 587 Grant St., Akron. It kicks off at 4:30 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 11: Chardon BrewFest is noon-5 p.m. Details TBA.

Saturday, Aug. 11: Take a Saturday drive for a large-scale tasting. The PNC Park All Star Craft Beer and Wine Festival is 3-7 p.m. (2 p.m. entry for VIP) in downtown Pittsburgh. There will be approximately 350 wines, craft beers and cocktails offered. Admission is $45 (general), $60 (VIP) and $20 (designated driver). Includes commemorative glass, gift bag, on-field photo opps, two tickets to a Pirates game, entertainment, vendors, giveaways, more. Tickets are available online.

Monday, Aug. 13: Great Lakes Brewing Co.’s Giving Mondays take place on the second Monday each month. A dollar of every pint sold will go to a different non-profit organization. Today’s beneficiary: Refugee Response. Great Lakes is at 2516 Market Ave., Cleveland.

Tuesday, Aug. 14: TownHall will hold Mead School at 8 p.m. Cost is $15 and includes light apps and samples. It’s at 1909 W. 25th St., Cleveland.

Thursday, Aug. 16: Western Reserve Distillers will have a vodka tasting at Goldhorn Brewery 4:30-7 p.m. Staffers from the distillery will talk about their local, organic grains and new Lakewood location. Goldhorn is at 1361 E. 55th St., Cleveland.

Friday, Aug. 17: Firkin Friday’s beer flavor is blueberry at Thirsty Dog Brewing Co. at 1085 Old River Road, Cleveland’s Flats East Bank and 587 Grant St., Akron. It kicks off at 4:30 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 18: Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad will feature Goose Island beers 7:30-9:30 p.m. Train leaves from Akron Northside Station and goes through the national park. Tickets start at $50. Seating is assigned. Includes five beer selections and light appetizers and commemorative glass.

Tuesday, Aug. 21: Lock 15 Brewing Co. holds its official grand opening. The brewery is at 21 W. North St., Akron.

Friday, Aug. 24: Rozi’s Wine House will hold its annual beer and wine tasting fundraiser 6-9 p.m. All proceeds will go toward the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s support of blood-cancer research. Eight beers from Jackie O’s in Athens will be on draft along with 10 to 12 wines to sample. Food will be paired with the drinks. Rozi’s is at 14900 Detroit Ave., Lakewood.

Saturday, Aug. 25: Thirsty Dog Brewing Co.’s Blues & Brews will be 2-5 p.m. It will include 200 beers, live music, silent auction and VIP ticket option. It’s at Lock 3 on Main Street in downtown Akron.

Sunday, Aug. 26: Great Lakes Brewing Co. is closing Market Avenue for a special in-the-street five-course dinner with courses paired with beers at 5 p.m. to celebrate 30 years of independent craft brewing in Cleveland.
