Dutch Days returns, just like clog-work
The wooden shoes were clunkin’, the brooms were swooshin’, and Fulton folks were welcomin’ visitors to their fair city for the 45th annual Dutch Days, which started Friday and ran through Sunday. Though the event is celebratory in nature, its theme this year was a solemn one: “Lest We Forget: Dirk Van Leenen – Holocaust Survivor.” Van Leenen was born in 1940 in the Netherlands, and authored several books on World War II and his time growing up during the years of the Holocaust resistance. The annual event that celebrates all things Dutch also featured windmill tours, arts and crafts, a car show, vendors, food, dancing, demonstrations, a parade and more.
