Rubber City Armory donates rifles to Akron Police Department

AKRON, Ohio – Kenmore-based Rubber City Armory has donated 10 tactical rifles to the Akron Police Department.

The custom-made rifles will be used in the department’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit and will replace rifles that have been in use for more than 30 years.

“We recognize the vital role the Akron Police Department SWAT unit plays in protecting our local business and community,” said Rubber City Armory President Shade McMillen in a news release. “We’re honored to be able to provide these new, handcrafted rifles and look forward to the tremendous protection they will provide the city of Akron.”
