Oakland downs Creswell 18-12
CRESWELL — The Oakland Oakers got their first football win of the season Friday, downing Creswell 18-12 in overtime in a Special District 3 matchup.
Corbin Picknell had 315 yards on 24 carries and two touchdowns for the Oakers (1-5, 1-1 District 3). Picknell had a 5-yard run in overtime for the win.
Wil Powell had 104 yards on 13 carries and one touchdown.
On defense, Powell had 15 tackles and including three tackles for a loss. Jayden Henry and Jacob Brooksby both had an interception for Oakland.
“It was weird it was our first win, because it was like the same scenario each game,” Oakland coach Ben Lane said. “This time we made it work in the end. We stopped ourselves many times with penalties and turnovers. It was neat to see them get that first win on the road in a rainy game. We overcame the adversity we created ourselves.”
Oakland plays at Monroe next Friday.
