LONDON (AP) — Michael Carberry is back in contention for England after being included in the Twenty20 and one-day international squads to play Sri Lanka.

Carberry, who opened the batting in the Ashes series at the end of last year, was outspoken about his omission from the team in the following ODI series against Australia.

But the 33-year-old left-hander has been called up by new coach Peter Moores after impressive performances for county side Hampshire. He appears set to challenge for a Twenty20 opening spot with Alex Hales in the match against world champion Sri Lanka at the Oval on May 20.

The three-match ODI series begins on May 22 at the same London venue.
