Detroit seeks resident input on improving quality of life

August 18, 2018

DETROIT (AP) — The Detroit mayor’s office wants to hear residents’ ideas on how to improve the city’s quality of life, better protect the public health and provide greater economic opportunities.

A public session was scheduled for Saturday as part of the Sustainability Community Series. Other sessions are also planned.

Officials say Mayor Mike Duggan’s administration is committed to taking input from at least 7,000 Detroit residents so that community ideas play a significant role in shaping the city’s Sustainability Action Agenda .

More than 4,000 people have already been contacted through the effort’s first phase of engagement with block clubs, community meetings, in-person interactions and survey responses.

Duggan created the city’s Office of Sustainability in 2017.
