Police: Suspects forced 74-year-old to withdraw $3K from ATM
Raleigh police are searching for two suspects who forced a 74-year-old man to withdraw money from an ATM on Monday.
Authorities said two unidentified suspects convinced a victim to drive them to a bank at 8911 Brier Creek Parkway and withdraw money at about 1 p.m.
In a 911 call, a woman says the 74-year-old victim texted her to say the two men approached him at a Walmart.
“He just texted me and said he was in danger and to call the police,” the woman tells the dispatcher. “It’s a serious situation. It might cost him $3,000 or his life.”
According to an incident report, the suspects took about $3,000 in cash.
Raleigh police said no weapons were used in the robbery.
A description of the suspects was not immediately available.
