Ex-worker at youth services center charged with assault
PITTSFIELD, Mass. (AP) — A former worker at a Lenox facility that provides specialized care and education services for children and adolescents with psychiatric and emotional needs has been charged with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl at the facility.
Blary Sanchez, of Lee, was released on personal recognizance after he and his attorney entered a not guilty plea Tuesday in Berkshire Superior Court to five counts of aggravated indecent assault and battery by a mandated reporter and a single count of witness intimidation.
Prosecutors say the 21-year-old Sanchez abused the girl between October 2013 and August 2014 when he worked at the Hillcrest Education Center and she was a client.
Hillcrest’s president tells the Berkshire Eagle (http://bit.ly/1CUcj6o ) that Sanchez passed all background checks and has been fired.
