Police: 4 dead in head-on crash in central Florida

October 2, 2018

LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) — Police officials in central Florida say four people have died in a head-on crash.

Lakeland police tell news outlets that a car crossed into an oncoming lane and crashed into a truck towing an unoccupied horse trailer around noon Tuesday.

Three of the car’s occupants died at the scene, while the fourth died at a nearby hospital. Authorities say the driver of the truck was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

Authorities say a third vehicle received some damage, but the driver was uninjured.

Police are investigating what cause the car to lose control.
