POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) _ Manny Otero had 23 points and hit six of seven 3-pointers to lead Marist to a 91-75 win Saturday night over Niagara.

It was Marist’s first Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference victory over the Purple Eagles. Bobby Joe Hatton had 22 points and six rebounds for Marist and Bo Larragan added 14 points and 10 assists.

Marist (3-2, 1-0 MAAC) shot 72 percent in the second half, as Otero shot 4-4.

Marist entered the second half trailing Niagara 41-47. With the score knotted at 58, the Red Foxes went on 26-5 run to make the score 84-63, the largest lead of the game.

Niagara (1-4, 0-1) was led by Jermaine Young with 21 points and Kevin Jobity with 17 points and seven boards. Alvin Young added 15 points.

The Purple Eagles outrebounded Marist 30-26.

Bryan Whittle and Tomasz Cielebak each chipped in 12 points for Marist.
