Presbyterian Women raise $15K for Lily’s Place after yearlong fundraiser

August 22, 2018

HUNTINGTON - Presbyterian Women of the Synod of the Trinity presented Lily’s Place in Huntington a $15,000 donation toward the center’s mission of treating infants born with neonatal abstinence syndrome.

The Synod’s Mission Coordinating Committee selected Lily’s Place for a yearlong fundraising effort after an application filed in 2016 by Kay Mobayed and JoAnne Yingling of Highlawn Presbyterian Church in Huntington.

The Synod of the Trinity is divided into 16 presbyteries that oversee the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. in most of West Virginia, southern Ohio and southern Pennsylvania.

Lily’s Place is the nation’s first purpose-built NAS treatment facility and can house up to a dozen infants at one time. The facility relies on grants and public donations for around 40 percent of its annual funding.
