Strong Earthquake Rocks Mexico City

MEXICO CITY (AP) _ A strong earthquake rocked Mexico City on Friday, causing skyscrapers to sway and frightening residents.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the quake caused major damage, although radio reports said the city appeared to be fine. A magnitude wasn’t immediately available. The quake didn’t appear to knock out electricity or phone service.

Hundreds ran out into the street when the quake hit, joining protesters who have taken control of Reforma Avenue.
