Nectar Wine and Beer plans South Perry shop
Nectar Wine and Beer on Perry is slated to open in Spokane’s South Perry neighborhood in mid-spring 2019.
That’s two years later than proprietor Josh Wade, who also owns Nectar Catering and Events in downtown Spokane as well as Nectar Wine and Beer in Spokane’s Kendall Yards, had originally planned.
Back in 2016, Wade announced plans to open another Nectar location in the South Perry neighborhood. But, he said, “Shortly after that the negotiations fell apart surrounding tenant improvement packages and terms.”
Early this summer, Wade noticed the space was still available and reached back out to the building owners. This time, they were able to come to terms, and Wade signed a lease Nov. 2.
The new Nectar location will employ eight to 10 people, bringing the total number of people employed by the company to more than 30 during the busy season.
Designs are in the works by Spokane Restaurant Equipment. Construction is slated to start in January.
The new location will stretch 3,400 square feet and include a 600-square-foot members’ lounge or private room.
And Nectar Wine and Beer on Perry will be modeled after the concept in Kendall Yards. The plan is to offer 16 craft beers on tap as well as 32 wines by the glass. The hope, Wade said, is “to be the neighborhood wine and beer shop” as well as “to fill a niche that is currently missing on the South Hill. I have always loved the Perry neighborhood, and I am delighted to be able to invest in this growing community of small businesses.”
The South Perry location will be at 907 S. Perry St. The Kendall Yards location, which opened in 2015, is at 1331 W. Summit Parkkway. And the downtown location is at 120 N. Stevens St.
