Journalist, author speaks about Arab Spring
VICTORY TWP. — New York Times journalist and author Robert Worth spoke Wednesday at West Shore Community College as part of the Humankind series.
Worth’s book, “A Rage for Order: The Middle East in Turmoil, from Tahrir Square to ISIS,” is featured in the college’s Humankind series, which is a continuing examination of the political, social, religious and artistic similarities and differences between the U.S. and other parts of the world. This year, the series is focusing on the Middle East.
Worth discussed his book, his time living in the Middle East as bureau chief for the New York Times’ Beirut office and the process of writing the book, which examines the nations involved in the Arab Spring as populations revolted against dictatorships and corrupt regimes throughout the Middle East in 2010 and 2011.
