Anderson elected chair of Mason County Board of Commissioners

Janet Andersen was elected as the chair of the Mason County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday morning.

Andersen, who represents the 6th district of Mason County that includes Free Soil, Meade, Victory, Sherman and half of Sheridan townships, was nominated by Wally Taranko, and seconded by Dr. Lew Squires.

“I would like to start by thanking you as your chair for the Mason County Board of Commissioners,” Andersen said as she took the center seat on the board. “I look forward to working with each and every one of you.”

Steve Hull, who represents the 5th District that includes Riverton, Summit and part of Pere Marquette townships, was nominated by Squires to be the vice chair, and Gary Castonia seconded the motion. Hull was unanimously approved as the vice chair.
