Man accused of attempted theft from Barboursville Walmart

HUNTINGTON — The following information was provided by police reports filed in the Cabell County Sheriff’s Office:

GRAND LARCENY: A man is accused of attempting to steal an arcade machine and television around 11:20 p.m. Tuesday from the Barboursville Walmart.

Robert Leon Minued, 47, was jailed at 12:30 a.m. Thursday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with grand larceny. Bond was not set.

According to the police report, the suspect wheeled a shopping cart containing the 65-inch Samsung TV, valued at $1,897; and a Galaga Arcade machine, valued at $299, to Chick-fil-A on Melody Farms Drive before he was apprehended by deputy sheriffs and taken into custody without incident.

The Huntington Police Department listed 12 new incident reports in the 24-hour period ending at 3 p.m. Wednesday, according to the printout released by the department. However, the individual police reports were not made available, so these are the only known details:

Obstruction of traffic, 10:01 p.m. Tuesday, 5th Street Road and North Altamont Road.

Leaving the scene/accident causing property damage, 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, 18th Street and 5th Avenue.

Possession of a controlled substance, 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, 1300 block of 12th Street.

Warrant service/execution, 4:34 p.m. Tuesday, 700 block of 5th Avenue.

Trespassing, 3 p.m. Tuesday, 400 block of 5th Avenue.

48 hour parking violation, 1 p.m. Tuesday, Stewart Avenue and 14th Street.

Breaking and entering, 11 p.m. Monday, 1200 block of Charleston Avenue.

Robbery — second degree, midnight June 1, 2018, Olive Street.

Paraphernalia, obstructing officer, 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, 23rd Street and Lincoln Avenue.

Receiving or transferring stolen vehicle, 5:37 a.m. Tuesday, 100 block of 5th Avenue.

Destruction of property — misdemeanor, petit larceny, 1 a.m. Tuesday, I-64 mile marker 10 rest area.

Petit larceny, 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, 200 block of Short Street, Guyandotte.

The following information was provided by booking records kept at Western Regional Jail:

Joshua Dale Smith, 34, was jailed at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities in Mason County charged him with being a fugitive from justice. Bond was not set.

Franklin Delano Chafin, 28, was jailed at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with bond violation. Bond was not set.

Justin Ryan Keaton, 30, was jailed at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with bond violation. Bond was not set.

Tyler Chase McCallister, 28, was jailed at 6:40 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities in Putnam County charged him with wanton endangerment. Bond was set at $70,000.
