KID ROCK’S SIGN IS APPROVED BUT CRITICIZED
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Nashville city council and its mayor have approved a sign for Kid Rock’s bar on Lower Broadway, but a lot of people are still unhappy about it. The 20-foot neon sign for Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock and Roll Steakhouse features a guitar with a base shaped like buttocks. The council resolution approving the sign was signed into law Friday by Mayor David Briley. The Nashville Tennessean quotes Councilwoman Kathleen Murphy, who voted against the measure, as saying the sign crosses the line of good taste and goes against the family-friendly image Nashville wants to portray. Rock came under fire in Nashville in November, when he was booted as grand marshal of the Nashville Christmas Parade for making profane comments on live TV.
