Police: Toddler found wandering alone in Connecticut city
NEW LONDON, Conn. (AP) — Police in Connecticut say they don’t anticipate charging the parents of a toddler found wandering the streets alone in the early morning hours.
New London police say the 2-year-old boy was spotted by a motorist at about 4 a.m. Monday. The motorist called police, and the boy was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Officers went door to door in the area where the child was found until they located the parents, who had been asleep.
Capt. Brian Wright says the parents were visibly shaken when they found out what had happened. He says it was apparent the door had been properly secured. The parents were reunited with the child at the hospital.
No names were released.
The state Department of Children and Families was notified.
