It’s Finally Arrived at KFC
Kentucky Fried Chicken is now serving chicken and waffles at its restaurants nationwide.
Customers can choose between KFC’s extra crispy chicken or extra crispy chicken tenders, served with Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup, starting at $5.49, beginning Monday and through Dec.31. The dishes will be available at KFC’s nearly 4,200 restaurants across the U.S.
Also available: a sandwich with KFC’s Hot Honey fried chicken breast filet between two waffles ($5.99).
“Our famous extra crispy, savory fried chicken atop a Belgian Liege-style waffle, with the finishing touch of classic Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup, makes for a scrumptious dish I’d put up against versions at upscale restaurants, but we’re offering it at a price just about anyone can afford,” said KFC’s U.S. chief marketing officer Andrea Zahumensky in a statement.
KFC tried 15 different waffle variations before opting for thick, Belgian Liege-style waffles made with a yeast-raised dough instead of a batter, KFC’s head chef Bob Das said in a statement. The result, he said, “is sweeter and doughier than American-style waffles.”
