MALC keeps rolling: Gillman shoots even-par 36 to tie for 1st place
BULLHEAD CITY — Patriots junior Dakota Gillman and Bradshaw Mountain High School Bears junior Carson Randa each shot even-par 36 to tie for first place in the individual standings at the Laughlin Ranch Golf Course on Tuesday afternoon.
“I felt really good,” Gillman said, “I was putting really good.
“Every putt I had left me a tap-in into the hole — one bogie, one birdie is a good round.”
“Individually, we held the top three scores,” MALC head golf coach Scott Gillman said.
Juniors Trevor Price and Zach Neal each fired 2-over 38 to tie for third place for MALC.
“It’s Zach’s third year golfing with us,” Coach Gillman said. “He’s come along nicely.
He added: “Trevor had a good round today.”
The Mohave Accelerated Learning Center team won the team title by shooting 20-over par, the Prescott High School Badgers came in second at 28-over. The Bears finished third at 41-over.
MALC hails from the Arizona Interscholastic Association 2A conference, whereas its foes are from the AIA 4A conference.
