Jeanette Garcia, independent Certified Public Accountant, presents annual financial statements with report of independent certified audit for June 20, 2018. The work was completed by JLG and Associates.

NUSD action item: Approve annual financial statements with report of independent CPA dated June 30, 2018.

NUSD action item: Approve consulting contract with Stephanie Jones for student support services over the remainder of the 2018-19 school year. The rate is $65 per hour, not to exceed $5,000.

NUSD action item: Approve second quarterly report for the 2018-19 school year for schools monitored under the Williams settlement. The Williams settlement requires schools to report the overall condition of facilities, number of teacher mis-assignments and vacant teacher positions, and the availability of textbooks or instructional material. There were no shortages.

NUSD action item: Review and approve California School Boards Association delegate assembly information and ballot for the 2019 assembly. Christina Cameron-Otero has been the delegate representing the district at the CSBA Convention. She nominated, and the board approved, Tommy Courtney of Lucerne Valley USD, Shari S. Megaw of Chaffey Joint Unified High School District, Eric Swanson of Hesperia USD, and Kathy A. Thompson of Central School District. Delegates serve two-year terms, April 1, 2019, through March 31, 2021. The next meeting of the delegate assembly is on Saturday and Sunday, May 18 and 19, in Sacramento.

NUSD action item: As requested by District Financial Services at the San Bernardino County Superintendents Office, approve county Form 2C adding Jim Rolls, director of educational programs, until revoked; deleting Debra Downey, chief business official, as of Jan. 16; to list of personnel authorized to access the county schools computer consortium system’s accounts payable program.

A special meeting of the board with Dr. Kegham Tashjian is to be held Tuesday, Feb. 26, beginning at 5 p.m. in the NUSD Support Office on Erin Drive. The next regular meeting is to be held Tuesday, March 12, in the NUSD Support Office. Executive (closed) sessions begin at 5 p.m., public sessions at 6 p.m. Pacific Time.
