Two people shot Friday at Lake City club

LAKE CITY, S.C. -- Two people were injured and one person is in custody following a shooting at The Pink House in Lake City.

Lake City Police responded to the club about 9 p.m. and, upon arrival, found two gunshot victims who were transported to a Pee Dee area hospital for treatment, according to a release from the agency.

A manhunt was conducted for the suspect, who fled the area following the shooting.

“During the course of the investigation, 32-year-old Denon Devon Carson was detained after a manhunt at a residence on Scott Street and was taken to the Lake City Police Department for questioning,” according to a second release on the incident.

Carson, of 208 Smith Street, Lake City, is charged with two counts of attempted murder, according to the Florence County Detention Center’s Website.

The release said that one person suffered multiple gunshot wounds while a second person was shot once.

Florence County Sheriff’s deputies responded to assist the Lake City Police Department.
