October 4, 2018

The Fort Wayne Fire Department’s water rescue team will resume its search Thursday for a person reported to have jumped off a bridge at Spy Run Avenue and State Boulevard Wednesday evening.

An onlooker called 911 around 6 p.m. to report that someone had jumped from the bridge, Deputy Fire Chief Adam O’Connor said.

The search was halted Wednesday evening, O’Connor said.

The water rescue team includes firefighters who specialize in scuba diving. The fire department has 36 firefighters working in water rescue, O’Connor said.
