Officials: 1extricated from Saturday night vehicle collision
BETHEL — Fire officials reportedly extricated one person from a vehicle late Saturday night after a car rolled over after a traffic incident on I-84 East.
Bethel fire officials said they received a call around 11 p.m. that two vehicles rolled over in a collision, with one vehicle on its side with a trapped passenger. Thomas Galliford, Bethel fire marshal and Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Department chief, said the initial report was that there were entrapments in both cars, but it was only true for one. The two vehicles collided and ended up on the side of the highway, he said.
Galliford confirmed fire officials from Danbury and Brookfield were called to the scene for assistance. The passenger in the rolled-over vehicle was extricated through the windshield. That passenger was taken to the hospital and they were in stable condition at the time of the extrication.
Galliford said it took between 10 and 12 minutes to extricate the passenger.
