CHILD POVERTY INITIATIVE

CINCINNATI _ A plan to help parents experiencing poverty in the Cincinnati region get and keep jobs is set to be released soon. The Child Poverty Collaborative is scheduled to unveil its anti-poverty action plan in January. The collaborative said the plan includes several elements to help the under-employed get jobs and remain employed, including helping with transportation and providing emergency funds and wrap-around services like legal aid and family services. _ FATAL SHOOTING-OHIO: Police say a man has been shot and killed in Ohio’s capital city.

_ BALLISTIC SHIELDS-SCHOOLS: Some Ohio school districts in Union County are getting ballistic shields in attempts to better protect students and staff from violent attacks.

_ DEPUTY SHOT-NO INDICTMENT: An Ohio grand jury declined to indict three police officers who fatally shot a driver during an attempted traffic stop in May.
