HOUSTON (AP) _ A car driven by man who had been fatally shot in the head slammed into a condominium, injuring a woman in her bed, police said.

Police were looking for a man and woman who fled from the car Saturday night after the driver, Herman Barnes Jr., 34, was shot and the car crashed.

Homicide Detective R.L. Maxey said the man dropped a pistol when he got out of the car.

Police said they have no motive and no suspects.

Felecia Mitchell, 28, was hospitalized in stable condition with cuts, bruises and possible internal injuries, her sister, Glenda German, said.

Ms. German said her sister told her that she heard a roaring noise and ''then everything seemed to fall apart.''

The car crashed through the wall and hit the woman's bed, knocking it and a television set into a hallway.
