A top official in Bosnia peace effort released from hospital
STOCKHOLM, Sweden (AP) _ Carl Bildt, the top international civilian official in Bosnia, was released from the hospital on Friday, nearly a week after becoming ill at his home in Sweden.
Bildt was taken to Stockholm’s Danderyds Hospital last Saturday, suffering what doctors described as a viral infection.
It was not immediately clear when he would return to Bosnia.
``He needs some time for convalescence,″ Jakob Broberg, a spokesman for Bildt’s Moderate party, told the Swedish news agency TT.
Bildt, a former prime minister, is leader of the conservative Moderates, Sweden’s largest opposition party. He has signalled his intention to leave his Bosnia post this year and return to the domestic political scene.
