Texans Sign Son of Former Oiler
HOUSTON (AP) _ The Texans added a link to Houston’s NFL past by signing offensive tackle Andy Stensrud, the son of a former player for the Oilers.
The 6-foot-8, 272-pound Stensrud was among eight free agents added to the team’s roster Tuesday. He has played in NFL Europe and was cut in training camp last year by the New York Giants.
Stensrud, who converted from tight end at Iowa State, is the son of Mike Stensrud, who played for the Oilers from 1979-85.
The others players signed Tuesday are wide receiver Derick Armstrong, tight end Rashod Kent, defensive tackle Marcus Spriggs, offensive lineman Ed Ta’amu, safety Travis Tillman, cornerback Darrick Vaughn and linebacker Terrell Washington.
