Sandy Hook Elementary School evacuated after threat
NEWTOWN — On the anniversary of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, the school was evacuated Friday morning after a threat was received, according to Newtown Action Alliance.
Newtown Action Alliance, a grassroots gun violence organization that was founded following the deadly shooting of 20 children and six educators on Dec. 14, 2012, said the threat is being investigated by police.
“Please stand with our community as we attempt to survive another tragic anniversary,” the organization posted on Twitter.
Friday marks the six year anniversary of the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
Police did not immediately return request for comment as of 10:35 a.m. Friday. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
