ATHENS, Ohio — An employee of Ohio University Southern was among classified staff recognized for their years of service during a recent celebration in Athens, Ohio. Brian K. Kelley was among the employees honored during the event. Kelley has worked at the Southern Campus for 20 years.
Ohio University thanked 60 employees for their dedicated service during the 26th annual Classified Service Awards Ceremony last week. Employees were recognized for completing 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years of service. Honorees received a special gift according to their years of service.
President Dr. M. Duane Nellis attended the ceremony and thanked the employees for their outstanding service. He said the University “couldn’t be the institution we are today without the tremendous support that each of you provide.” Nellis said the people who work at Ohio University are what “truly distinguishes this institution from all the rest.”
Nellis called the employees “difference makers” and commended them for their genuine care about the success of this institution.
Ohio Southern Dean Nicole Pennington said Kelley is a valued member of the Regional Campus.
“We are proud of Brian for his years of service to the University and commend him on this accolade,” she said.
Kelley, of South Point, serves in the Facilities Management Department of Ohio Southern. He previously was employed in the library at the Ironton Campus.
