Moenchengladbach signs Thorgan Hazard on loan
MOENCHENGLADBACH, Germany (AP) — Borussia Moenchengladbach has signed Belgian attacking midfielder Thorgan Hazard on loan for one season from Chelsea.
The Bundesliga side says the 21-year-old Hazard, the younger brother of Belgium star Eden, has signed a deal through June 2015.
Hazard spent the past two seasons on loan at Belgian side Zulte Waregem. He scored 14 goals in 39 league games and two more in 10 Europa League games last season. He was voted player of the year in Belgium for 2013.
Moenchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl says, “Thorgan is a promising talent. He can play across several positions in attack and we’re happy that he’s decided to take the next step in his career at Borussia.”
Hazard, who played for Belgium’s youth sides from under-15 level, has one appearance for the senior side.
