Ohio child in toy car struck, killed by vehicle

HILLSBORO, Ohio — A child playing in a toy car was killed Sunday after being struck by a vehicle, reports say.

The child, whose name and age were not available, was pronounced dead at Highland District Hospital after the incident, which occurred just before 4 p.m., WLWT Channel 5 reports.

The State Highway Patrol says the child entered the road in a toy car and was struck by a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by a 40-year-old Hillsboro man, according to local12.com.

The crash remains under investigation.

Hillsboro is located in southwest Ohio, about 55 miles east of Cincinnati.
