Tolsia falls to Mount View
GLENHAYES — The Rebels will return to Glenhayes Friday night for their homecoming game hosting Tyler Consolidated after a nail biting week seven loss.
Tolsia (4-3) gave Class A No. 1 ranked Mount View all they could handle.
Bad weather made for a slop fest at Vic Nystrom Stadium today night in the 6-0 Mount View win.
The two teams combined for under 100 yards in the first half, some due to Tolsia’s leading rusher Devon Crum leaving in the first quarter to injury, not to return the rest of the game.
Senior Paskell Doss led Tolsia’s defensive charge with two first half interceptions. Doss’s second interception couldn’t have came at a better time. With under a minute to go, Doss intercepted a pass on the goaline to nip the Golden Knights momentum and take a 0-0 score into halftime.
Mount View’s sole touchdown came on a 15-yard pass from Jesse Rose to Terry Headen.
Despite two good passes from the arm of Tanner Copley to Doss and Jesse Muncy, Tolsia was stopped inside the 15 yard line to end their last drive of the game.
Tyler Consolidated (3-3) will travel to Glenhayes Friday night for the Rebel’s homecoming game.
The Knights traveled to Williamstown Friday night and lost by a landslide 51-18.
Tyler Consolidated fell in their opening two weeks and before going on a three game win streak to enter week eight at .500.
Knight’s offense averaged 53 points per game in their three wins of the season. Their high powered offense will test Tolsia’s rugged defense Friday night beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Wilt Salmons Stadium.
