Pittsburgh Councilwoman Theresa Kail-Smith injured in crash
Pittsburgh City Councilwoman Theresa Kail-Smith was injured Monday during a traffic crash in the West End, city police reported.
Public Safety spokeswoman Alicia George said an SUV ran into a vehicle occupied by Kail-Smith and her husband, Tom, about 7:55 p.m. at Wabash Street and Greentree Road in West End Village.
Kail-Smith, 59, of Westwood suffered injuries that were not life threatening, but under doctor’s orders she is recovering at home. She did not attend Wednesday’s council meeting and could not be reached. Her office declined to comment.
Police did not identify the driver of the SUV, who was not injured. The crash is being handled privately, according to George.
