Panthers Re-Sign Love, Add Safety And Punter
ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) _ The Carolina Panthers on Wednesday re-signed offensive guard Sean Love and added a safety and a punter to their training camp roster.
Love, a three-year veteran who joined the Panthers last September, was a restricted free agent who played mainly on special teams and was a backup on the offensive line. The 6-foot-4, 304-pound Love is expected to compete for the starting right guard spot.
Also signed by the Panthers were safety Damon Pieri, who spent 10 games on the Panthers’ roster last season before being waived Nov. 15, and punter Aaron Kanner, who spent the past two seasons in the Canadian Football League.
Pieri, 25, was never activated by Carolina last season.
Kanner, also 25, joins Tommy Barnhardt, last year’s starter, and Kevin Feighery as the punters on Carolina’s roster.
