Wilson Called Up To Pittsburgh
Almost as soon as captain Garrett Wilson returned to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, he now finds himself summoned to Pittsburgh.
The NHL team recalled the forward on Wednesday after placing Zach Aston-Reese on injured reserve. The latter was hurt during a fight against Florida’s Colton Sceviour on Tuesday and will miss at least one week.
Wilson has been a point-per-game player with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season and has also skated in 14 games with the parent club. He was suspended for the Penguins’ last two games after committing an illegal check to the head on Dec. 31.
Aston-Reese had two goals and two assists in the four games prior to his injury.
