VALLEY SANTA: Local Mothers Struggling This Christmas
Lisa, a mother of four children, is struggling to raise four children by herself.
Their father is in prison and she has panic disorder and anxiety attacks, according to a letter she sent to Valley Santa.
She recently moved here from New Jersey with her family and she said they “lost everything.”
“I don’t have enough money for anything after I pay my rent,” Lisa wrote. “I don’t have money for the holidays, especially Christmas, to buy my kids toys, clothes and gifts. I can’t even afford a Christmas tree and ornaments.”
She asked for Valley Santa’s help to provide Christmas gifts for her children.
“I would appreciate if you could help me out,” she wrote. “It would really mean a lot to my kids and to me to see them happy with a smile.”
Heather, another single mother, has eight children and she said they have had a rough time financially since their father left.
She said she has received assistance from many people already and did not want to ask for Valley Santa’s help but she said, “My kids are so terrific. I would hate for them to be disappointed.”
“If there are families more needy than ours, don’t hesitate to discard my request,” Heather wrote in a letter to Valley Santa. “My children appreciate the true meaning of Christmas and they know how lucky they are every day.”
