Nancy Peterson -- Wabasha

Nancy B. Peterson, 93, of Wabasha, passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019, at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center, Wabasha.

Nancy Bernadine was born Dec. 3, 1925, in Minneapolis, to Hjalmer and Helga (Lindberg) Persson. On June 29, 1946, she married Victor R. Peterson in Duluth. The couple moved to Sand Prairie, rural Wabasha, in 1975. She was a member of Kellogg United Methodist Church, where she was active. She was well known for her quilt making and crafting ability and her generosity. She made hundreds of quilts, giving them away to those in need.

She is survived by her sisters, Elsa Persson, Duluth, Lorraine Eidahl, Duluth, Rhodell (Dennis) Sorenson, Clear Lake, S.D., Elizabeth Cassidy, Broomfield, Colo., and Karen (Tom) Demand, Apache Junction, Ariz.; numerous nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Victor; and a brother, Henry Persson.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at Kellogg United Methodist Church, Kellogg, with Pastor Cheryl Nymann officiating. Interment will be at Greenfield Cemetery, rural Kellogg. Visitation will begin 10 a.m. Monday at the church.

The family requests memorials be directed to Mayo Clinic Hospice, 200 First St. SW, Rochester, MN 55905.
