AKRON, Ohio (AP) _ Kareem Wilson scored two touchdowns in just over three minutes in the third quarter as Ohio rallied to beat Akron 29-23 Saturday, breaking a three-game losing streak.
Wilson went 19 yards for a touchdown with 3:38 left in the third period to break a 16-16 tie. His 12-yard run with 32 seconds left in the quarter made it 29-16.
Sid Hall began the third-quarter rally with a 2-yard touchdown run with 5:27 left.
Ohio (2-4-1 overall, 1-2-1 Mid-American Conference) scored in the second quarter on a 38-yard field goal by Scott Roberts and a 37-yard interception return by Damiso Johnson with 1:07 left.
Akron (1-6, 1-3), which lost its third straight, scored on the third play of the game on a 59-yard touchdown run by Terrel Dixon and Jozsef Jakab had field goals of 23, 42 and 34 yards.
Akron’s Mike Junko closed out the scoring with a 14-yard touchdown pass to Dixon with 6:33 left in the game.
