Pro-Nicholson group launches first ad in Senate race
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A political action committee backing Delafield businessman Kevin Nicholson for U.S. Senate has released its first television ad in the race.
Solutions for Wisconsin says the six-figure ad buy launched Thursday is running statewide on network and cable. The ad comes as the Republican primary between Nicholson and state Sen. Leah Vukmir heated up this week with former White House strategist Steve Bannon backing Nicholson in the race.
The pro-Nicholson ad focuses on Nicholson’s past as a U.S. Marine and brands him as a “true conservative.” Nicholson was president of the College Democrats of America before he switched parties after serving in the Marines.
The ad shows Nicholson in his combat fatigues and references his service in Iraq and Afghanistan where he completed 100 combat missions and won a Bronze Star.
